American actress Courtney Thorne Smith was born November 8, 1967. Her most famous role is Alison Parker on Melrose Place and Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal. She also appeared as Cheryl in According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy on Two and a Half Men. Thorne-Smith was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in Menlo Park, a suburb south of San Francisco. Walter Smith was her father and Lora Thorne was her mother. Both were computer market researchers. Courtney at seven years old at the time, separated from her father Walter Smith. She was a part of both parents at different times. Jennifer, her older sibling is an advertising executive. She attended Menlo Atherton High School located situated in Atherton, California, and graduated from Tamalpais High School, in Mill Valley, California, in 1985. She also performed with the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley while in high school. Thorne Smith's first appearance in a movie was in the movie drama Lucas. The film was co-produced by Winona Ryder (Corey Haim), and Charlie Sheen. In the late 1980s she also appeared in a variety of films which included Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II (Nerds in Paradise) (1987), Summer School (1987) and Side Out(90). In 1998, she was a star in the box-office movie Chairman Of The Bank, which failed along with Carrot Top. In 2009, she starred in Sorority Wars. In the early 1990s, she began a relationship with Andrew Shue, her on-screen lover from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she got married to geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple divorced in January 2001. On January 1, 2007, she married Roger Fishman, president of the marketing firm called the Zizo Group and author of the book What I Know. The couple welcomed Jacob Emerson Fishman on January 11, 2008 at the age of 40.
