Moss, born 13 February 1977, is an ex-American football player. He was an
American football player who played 14 seasons in the National Football League
(NFL) as well as with the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders as well as the
New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. He is widely acknowledged as Jerry
Rice's top wide receiver. He holds the NFL single-season record for touchdown
receptions of 23 in 2007 the NFL rookie single season touchdown reception record
(17 in 1998) and is ranked second on the NFL's all-time regular-season
touchdown receptions list, with 156. Moss was well-known for his skills in
securing an elusive catch and the term "mossed" has been incorporated
into football's language. After football, he started working with ESPN as an
analyst for its studio Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown
programs. Moss was from Rand, West Virginia native. He attended DuPont High
School, one of two schools were later merged into Riverside High School, where
he excelled in football, basketball, baseball, and track. Randy was also a
member of the school’s debate team. Moss was a DuPont Panthers' football player
who helped them win back-to-back state championshipsin 1992 and 1993. Moss was
a top wide receiver. He also played as a free safety and punt return. He was
awarded the Kennedy Award for West Virginia Football Player of the Year in
1994. Parade magazine named him to their annual All-American high school
football team in 1995. in 2009 named him one of the 50 greatest football
players from high school ever.
